It's getting colder outside. For the many men, women, boys, and girls
living on the street, the needs are many when the weather is cold.
NEEDED: (in all sizes for children and adults) tennis shoes, sweatshirts
sweatpants, jeans, winter jackets, gloves, scarves, hats, blankets,
backpacks, and WHITE socks. All items can be gently used.
We also need LOTS of 16 to 20 ounce water bottles!
We accept donated items all year for our various outreaches.
Please keep us in mind as you clean out your closets.
ITEMS ALWAYS NEEDED
Travel-size personal care items are in continuous demand. These items can be
bought at $1 stores and in the trial size displays of pharmacies & grocery stores.
Many people who travel often also tend to have a collection of these items from hotels.
We once had a large box of mini-size soaps mailed to us from a woman in Missourri
who collected them from hotels! Items that are regularly used are: shampoo,
conditioner, lotion, deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste, razors, combs, feminine
hygiene products, sewing kits, sample-size pain relievers & cold remedies, etc.
We also are in need of: working freezers & refrigerators, computers, cases of water,
paper & plastic grocery bags and lunch bags, trash bags, quart & gallon sized ziplock bags, and 50 to 100 pound bags of beans & rice.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
We need volunteers who can:
Make a professional video/CD promoting Manna Ministries
Research and write grants
Take pictures and make scrapbooks and display boards
Provide free paralegal services to needy families
Do repairs and maintenance on houses for needy families
Provide vehicle maintenance for single moms
Handle Holiday Food Bag preparation & distribution,
Wrap & distribute presents
Prepare weekly Food Bags
Sort clothing and small household items
Run yard sales
Contact stores & businesses to obtain donations
Organize food, diaper, toy, & sock drives
Send info to radio stations & newspapers for advertising
Help at Community Food Distribution sites
Run display table at Sunday church service
Pick-up donations at grocery stores (morning hours)
